A pioneer in mitigation and adaptation measures for rural communities, DA has provided environmental solutions even before climatic change had become a global concern. DA’s technology solutions include - renewable energy applications, eco-habitat, water management and state of environment reporting at the state, national and regional levels.

With more than 20 such EcoSolutions, DA has initiated over 600 projects, creating around one million livelihoods and benefiting over five million people in the most backward areas of India. Its emphasis lies primarily on women, the youth, farmers and the marginalised.

DA is engaged in influencing policy on environment-friendly standards. It works with the Government of India and in several states such as Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Orissa, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Bihar and Rajasthan. It has delivered its green technologies to neighbouring countries such as Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka in the region and also to Indonesia and parts of Africa.
